About DCGL
The Dachshund Club of the Great Lakes founded over 65 years ago is one of the longest standing clubs of its kind in the U.S. DCGL operates under the guidance of its parent club, The Dachshund Club of America, and is affiliated with the American Kennel Club. A non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and promoting the breeding of purebred Dachshunds, the DCGL is dedicated to increasing general knowledge and understanding of the breed as well as encouraging sportsmanlike competition at Conformation shows, Obedience, Agility, Rally, Field trials, and Tracking and Earth Dog tests.
Membership is open to people whose interests include ensuring that dachshunds are valued pets and key members of the household, who are interested in competition and/or breeding, and to those who have an interest in promoting the welfare of the breed—including rescue efforts.
